FISH FARMING

Fish harvests have become a regular event at the Suakoko Leprosy Center and the Mount Zion Rescue Mission orphanage. With twelve active ponds between the two locations, tilapia and catfish are available for the leprosy patients and orphans, and for sale in the local markets.

Kwatekeh is also providing the resources and technical expertise to two local villages as they create their own fish farming operations.

Kwatekeh Africa is a member of the Bong County Aquaculture Association, a cooperative of more than 100 fish farmers throughout the county, as well as a national aquaculture group.
